Granada formalizes its candidacy as sede de la Agencia de Inteligencia Artificial

Granada has formalized this Friday its candidacy to host the future seat of the State Agency for Supervision of Artificial Intelligence (AESIA), a project that has “unanimous” support from the scientific, business, institutional and social community of Andalucía.

The act of presentation of the candidacy project to the Ministerio de Economía y Digitalización ha tenido lugar en el hall de plenas del Ayuntamiento, where the mayor, Francisco Cuencaha destacado la fortaleza de la proposal andaluza, que confirma a la capital granadina como “ciudad de la ciencia, del conocimiento y de la tecnología”.

Junto a representantes de todas las institutions y entidades que conforman el denominado Pacto por Granadaentre ellos los consejeros de Presidencia, Antonio Sanz, y de Fomento, Marifrán Carazoel regidor ha ensalzado la “fuerte cohesion institucional, empresarial y social” de esta candidada, cuya memoria de trescientas páginas ha contado con la collaboración de un equipo de cien profesionales procesidos de treinta institución diferentes.

Cuenca has pointed out that the “strong cohesion” around the project, endorsed by more than 260 letters of support from entities, institutions andaluzas and the main companies of global relevance in the ecosystem of SMEs, demonstrates that Granada is facing a “project of the future firm” y solid”.

TRAJECTORIA DEL PROYECTO

Granada began to prepare its candidacy to be the seat of AESIA before the Government published, last October 5, the order with which it began the procedure to elect the physical seat of this pioneer Agency at the European level.

GRANADA FRENTE A LOS OTROS CANDIDATOS

Granada seeks to become the seat of AESIA in a career in the que compete with otras ciudades como Salamanca, Coruña, Barcelona o Gijón, y presenta para ganar la fortaleza de su ecosistema empresaria y, especially, de la UGR.

The excellence of Granada in research in IA places the UGR as the third university in Europe in the subject behind only those of Oxford and Zurich, and in the 33rd place of a world classification.

Granada also includes initiatives such as the OnTech Tecnológico Cluster, the major technological and biotechnological cluster of Andalucía, with more than seven hundred companies, and the UGR TIC Business Center (CETIC-UGR), which hosts consolidated companies from the technological base of the sector de las TIC.
